Hilton Falls Trail

Springwater Conservation

The first part of the trail which follows the river is mostly flat and only offers three or four points to see the river. Most of this route is not maintained, and there can be many downed trees that can be challenging to maneuver. Most of this trail is not well maintained, and there will often be downed trees or trails that need to be avoided. Even with the difficulty of the fallen trees and over grown trails, this is still the one of the best local hiking experiences since it is mostly hilly and very scenic.

Strathroy Memorial Trail Loop

This is one of the most beautiful hikes without a waterfall located deep in the Niagara Gorge. The Niagara Glen overlooks the waters of the Niagara River and the whirlpool. The forest has lots of wild flora and fauna.  For folks experienced with hiking, this will be easy, but for most people coming to admire the Niagara Glen Trail, you should expect a moderate hike with the spectacular sightseeing. This loop is a beautiful interconnected system of trails, as there are plenty of combinations you can do with different levels of elevation. The entire time, you can hear the sound of the roaring water along with the bright aqua coloured Niagara River through the trees as you hike alongside the water. There are many open areas where you can stop to admire the river, but you can also hike through the shaded forest canopies with rock formations if that’s preferred on a hot summer day.
